Sawa is the Founder and Partner of ThreeArrows Impact Partner. She has over 15 years of financial services experience across impact investing, general management, investment banking, and strategy. Throughout her career, she has worked across Africa, Latin America, Europe, Middle East, Asia, and the U.S.

Until February 2018, Sawa served as Chief Executive Officer of EInvestments (Pty) Ltd, an impact investment company with a mission to attack poverty and create jobs in South Africa. E2 is an empowerment partner to Allan Gray (Pty) Ltd, South Africa’s largest privately held investment management company. Prior to E2, Sawa worked for Barclays Africa Group’s Equity Investments and Special Projects team in Johannesburg. Before moving to South Africa, Sawa worked for the International Finance Corporation in the Health & Education Department where she invested in private hospitals, clinics, schools and universities in developing countries in a financially, socially and environmentally sustainable manner. Sawa started her career in finance at UBS Investment Bank.

Sawa has extensive experience as a board and committee member. Currently she serves on the Board of Spartan SME Finance, a non-banking financial institution that lends exclusively to SMEs and entrepreneurs in South Africa. Sawa also serves on the Board Investment Committee of the National Empowerment Fund, a South African government agency that invests in entrepreneurs from historically disadvantaged backgrounds. Until February 2018, she served on the board of Allan Gray Orbis Foundation.

Sawa holds an MBA from Columbia Business School (Finance & Social Enterprise) and a Masters in International Affairs (Economic & Political Development) from the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) at Columbia University. She is a CFA Charterholder. Sawa is a US-Japan Leadership Program (USLJP) delegate.
